Rim lock with key

Central Europe, mid-17th century

Malleable iron. The case is decorated with a brass plate lattice of Baroque pierced and engraved ornamentation which is screwed to the base. On the key, the bow is composed of a diamond and two circles, the solid rod shank has a ring collar, and the key bit is grooved (bulleted).
